Review: Miriam Margolyes in Dickens’ Women

For the next four nights, Miriam Margolyes (who Harry Potter fans will recognize as having played Professor Pomona Sprout in the film adaptations of our beloved series) is bringing a close to her ten-month, highly-acclaimed international tour of a show that she co-created, called Dickens’ Women. Five performances remain, and they are taking place at Chicago Shakespeare Theater’s “Upstairs Theater” – on Navy Pier in Chicago, Illinois.

MuggleNet recently spoke to Madam Margolyes about the production where she expressed her delight in visiting Chicago and ending her tour in the city.

After catching the premiere performance of Dickens’ Women tonight, we have posted a review of the show which can be read here. We were very entertained by Madam Margolyes, and enlightened by her storytelling as she recounted the life of Charles Dickens and portrayed some 23 different characters throughout the show.

Tickets are still available for Dickens’ Women, and if you are in the Chicagoland area we encourage you to see Madam Margolyes in such an intimate setting as “The Upstairs Theater.”
