Daniel Radcliffe Talks Irish Accents and Previews in Second Rehearsal Diary

by Claire Furner · Published May 25, 2013 · Updated October 16, 2017

Daniel Radcliffe has released his second video diary from the rehearsals for The Cripple of Inishmaan, his highly anticipated return to the London stage this June.

As modest as ever, Radcliffe welcomes the viewers from his Google+ page to the rehearsals rooms, acknowledging his less than glamorous surroundings and fondly recalling his “fantastic” all-Irish cast. He talks about performing in an Irish accent, claiming to be “a lot less nervous” about it than he was at the start of rehearsals two and a bit weeks ago. Inishmaan has about two weeks remaining in rehearsals before entering the tech process followed by previews, which are the show’s “rough draft…where we still get to screw up.”

It’s a charming video and worth watching. Check it out here.

The Cripple of Inishmaan opens for previews on June 8 and runs until August 31. Tickets can be purchased here, but for those who can’t make it, stay tuned for our review in the upcoming weeks.

How do you feel about these video diaries? Are you going to see Daniel on stage? Let us know in the comments section below.
