Scholastic release trailer and boxed set design for now fully unveiled new “Potter” covers

The revealing of the seventh re-designed Harry Potter US book cover by artist Kazu Kibuishi took place this morning at Scholastic’s headquarters in New York City. The ceremony coincided with Harry Potter’s (and author J.K. Rowling’s) birthday, and marked the end of a drawn-out campaign of controlled releases put on by Scholastic in the previous months.

The re-designed covers hope to draw in young and new readers to Rowling’s talent, evident in the new trailer, and for others will prove to be suitable replacements for their old and worn copies of the books, or as nice fresh collector’s items. All books, including a boxed set featuring even more new artwork, will be available in stores on August 27, 2013 and can be pre-ordered now.
