Natalia Tena Appears at Dragoncon; Exclusive Interview with MuggleNet

As we previously reported, this past weekend Natalia Tena, better known as Nymphadora Tonks, appeared at Atlanta’s DragonCon. The actress stayed very busy at the convention, presenting at four panels (two for the Potter series and two for her role as Osha on HBO’s Game of Thrones). When not presenting, she spent the rest of her time in the Walk of Fame, an area set up for adoring fans to get up close and personal with their favorite stars, taking photos and getting autographs.

MuggleNet attended Natalia’s Saturday panel, “An Hour with Tonks!,” which was set up in a question-and-answer format. The fan questions were amazing and ranged from asking what her boggart would be (“a giant wasp”) to what her Patronus would be (“an otter”) to which Potter character she would date (Voldemort, whom she also names as her favorite character). A full transcript of “An Hour with Tonks!” will be posted soon!

Despite her extremely busy schedule, Natalia was willing to answer a few questions for us.

MuggleNet (MN): In your panel, you mentioned that you’re working on a film, 10,000 Km.

Natalia Tena (NT): Yeah. Yeah, I’m filming in Barcelona right now.

MN: The whole movie is being filmed in Barcelona?

NT: Yeah. It’s my first Spanish film.

MN: You’re also in a band, Molotov Jukebox. Are there any plans to tour in the US?

NT: I really want to. I really want to go to New Orleans. It’s my mission before I die.

MN: Okay. And finally, one Potter question. Today is September 1, which is the day that the Hogwarts students take the train back to school. Teddy, Tonks’s son, would be fifteen now.

NT: That”s the awful age, isn’t it? When you just want to kick ’em out of the house.

MN: He would be starting his OWL year, his big exam year. Do you think Tonks would have any advice for her son?

NT: Don’t wait until the very end to cram. Don’t stay up all night trying to get it all in.

DragonCon was a ton of fun, and we were thrilled to be able to attend! An article about MuggleNet’s DragonCon experience will be posted to our blog soon.
