Music video: Warwick Davis takes part in Harry Hill sketch for Children in Need

by Sophie Reid · November 18, 2013

The BBC’s annual Children in Need fundraiser always brings together top talent in unique ways, and this year was no exception. One of the stars who contributed in more than one way to the night was Warwick Davis.

We previously reported that Warwick would be appearing in Harry Hill’s spoof “Take on Me” video. We are delighted to say that the video is now available online for you to watch, featuring Warwick playing the keyboard and lots of sausages…

Warwick also appeared later on in the show, firstly appearing at the Queen Vic – the fictional pub in British soap Eastenders, where he chatted to the landlord, Alfie Moon. Warwick then took to the stage to sing “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life” with the cast of Spamalot. While this isn’t available yet as a separate video, for those of you in the UK it is available on Iplayer.

The video above is a throwback to this breakthrough music video by Norwegian group a-ha. The original used a method called rotoscoping and won six awards for its production. The song itself reached number 1 on Billboard’s Top 100 in October 1985 due to the popularity of the video. What do you think of the video remake with Warwick Davis? Did you enjoy it? Let us know in the comments below!

Aunt Marge’s “lift-off” effect in “Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban” was achieved using a combination of inflatable body parts, prosthetic makeup, air tubes, and wire harness.

Potter History

December 4, 2008 – The Tales of Beedle the Bard is released in the United States and the United Kingdom. To the dismay of some Harry Potter fans, many bookstores did not hold midnight release parties as they did for other books in the Harry Potter series.

Potter Quote

“The Elder Wand cannot serve me properly, Severus, because I am not its true master. The Elder Wand belongs to the wizard who killed its last owner. You killed Albus Dumbledore. While you live, Severus, the Elder Wand cannot be truly mine.”
