UPDATED: Matt Lewis to appear as “superstar narrator” at Hay Festival – now includes audio!
In a radio interview this morning, Matt Lewis (Neville Longbottom) spoke to DJ Chris Evans about the upcoming final of the 500 Words competition. 500 Words is a children’s creative writing competition, hosted by BBC Radio 2 and the Hay Literary Festival. The winners of the competition are due to be announced tomorrow morning on a live show. The winning entries will be read by a host of “superstar narrators,” including our very own Matt Lewis.
Listen to the full show here, and find out more about the competition here. The results will be announced tomorrow morning (May 30) on Chris Evans’s breakfast show, live from the Hay Festival. Information about the Hay Festival can be found here.
Among the well-known names who have appeared there this week, Stephen Fry (UK audiobook narrator) and Jonny Duddle (new Harry Potter illustrator) have both spoken about their own work. You can see videos on the website.
Listen to the show tomorrow to hear Matt read a story, or if you can’t, hopefully, a clip will be available soon after it airs!
An audio clip of Matt reading the winning silver entry, “No Ideas” George by 7 year old Robert Jordan, in the 9 and under category is available here. And here’s a bonus picture of Matt reading the story:
