Cauldron Cake Pops

These little cake pops are a cute rendition of a Hogwarts Express favorite.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 box cake mix yellow
  • 1 tub frosting (as desired)
  • 1 chocolate
  • 1 icing black, orange, green, red (for decorating)
  • 1 box Nerds green

Instructions
 

Cake

  • Bake yellow cake following instructions on the box.
  • Once cool, crumb the yellow cake into mixing bowl.
  • Mix together frosting and cake crumbs until uniform.
  • Roll into balls of roughly equal size and place on wax paper. (They don't need to be perfect here.)
  • Place cake balls in freezer for about 40 minutes to set.

Assembly

  • Melt chocolate over double boiler or carefully in microwave.
  • Take lollipop sticks and dip them into chocolate. Then, stick them ¾ of the way into the cake balls.
  • Once finished, place cake pops in the freezer for another five minutes to solidify the chocolate.
  • Dip cake pops on stick back into the melted chocolate. Place them on the wax paper upside down to set. (This will create a flat top on each cauldron.) Let pops set.

Decoration

  • Paint flames onto the bottom of the cauldron with red & orange frosting all the way around the stick.
  • Use the black icing to add handles to each cake pop.
  • Use green frosting to 'glue' green Nerds on top of each cauldron.
