Animated version of Helena Bonham Carter to promote Children in Need
The BBC charity Children in Need’s annual fundraising push takes place during November in order to raise millions of pounds for disadvantaged children all over the world. Although the main event is next month, fundraising and promotion starts way before then, only getting bigger and more popular as the years go on. This year, promotional advertisements are set to air in the form of animated super hero characters to help encourage people to “sign up, pledge their allegiance and Be A Hero.” Well-known British faces who will magically be transformed into a “super hero” include Helena Bonham Carter!
The Bellatrix Lestrange actress’s animated self will be donning a cloak in order to become her alter-ego, Captain Costume, “to encourage us all to get into the fancy dress spirit.” She will also be joined by singer Sir Tom Jones as The Entertainer, athlete Louis Smith as The Challenger, model Abbey Clancy as Bear Face, and The Great British Bake Off star Paul Hollywood as The Baker. The advertisements will also be voiced over by James Bond star Daniel Craig.
About said clips, the director of marketing and fundraising of BBC’s Children in Need said,
These magnificent trails are a tribute to those that year after year go above and beyond for us and to those who will do so for the first time this year. We hope everyone enjoys them and gets inspired to once again pull out all of the stops.
You can check out some pictures of Helena and the others as their animated selves below!
The promotional ads will start airing on UK television channel BBC1 TONIGHT, just before Strictly Come Dancing begins at 6:20 p.m. BST! BBC’s Children in Need appeal night is scheduled for November 14. Click here to find out more about the charity.
