“Harry Potter” series now available to read on Oyster!

by Sophie Reid · January 29, 2015

Good news for e-book fans! Oyster, which is a subscription service for e-books in the US, has partnered up with Pottermore in order to bring the Harry Potter series to Oyster users. The service now offers all seven Harry Potter books, plus all three Hogwarts library books – which includes Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (great if you need to study up on your fantastic beasts before the films come out).

Oyster works in a very simple way – by paying a small amount a month, you get unlimited access to whichever e-books you like, and the service works on a number of popular tablets and eReaders, including the Apple iPad and the Kindle Fire.

In order to celebrate the arrival of the books on the service, Oyster has added several special features to its service. As explained on their blog, readers can now

choose one of the new ‘House Themes’—with designs inspired by Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff—or tap the Sorting Hat icon to have one selected at random. Then dive into a custom reading experience inspired by your favorite Hogwarts House.

Plus, Oyster is running a competition to send one lucky reader on a trip to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Orlando, Florida! You can enter the competition here, where more details are available.

At the moment, Oyster is a service that is only available in the US.

Are you an Oyster user already? What do you think of this new announcement? Are you going to subscribe to Oyster now? Let us know in the comments!
