By AccordGroup | orlando-ticket-deals.co.uk

Unleash your inner wizard with some of our favourite websites, attractions and cookbooks!

As we here at Orlando Ticket Deals offer tickets for Universal Studios (the place to find the Wizarding World of Harry Potter), we know as well as anyone the effect that Harry, Hermione and Ron have had. If you have already booked your Orlando tickets and want to celebrate Harry Potter right now, here’s some of our favourite ways for Potterheads to unleash their inner wizard.

MuggleNet

With millions of Harry Potter fans from all over the world, the internet has served as a fantastic source for them to join together and celebrate the boy wizard. Among the best of these is MuggleNet, serving as a resource for everything from the best sections of the books to the best moments on screen.

Regarding themselves as the number one Harry Potter site, we spoke to MuggleNet for their best tips on how to release your inner wizard. Here’s what some of the team members came up with.

Dress the part.

–          Felicia Grady

Keep an open mind. Magic can be found anywhere as long as you are willing to see and accept it.

– Amy Hogan

Believe in the magic of the everyday. Every great wizard was once just a student trying to find their way.

– Alison Siggard

Don’t be afraid to have a little fun!

–          Mary Alice Wojcicki

Find others to enjoy the magic with!

Harry Potter Fan Fiction

Another fantastic resource for Potter fans is Harry Potter Fan Fiction, the place to find thousands of stories relating to the Wizarding World. Whether you’re a self-confessed Hufflepuff, Gryffindor, Slytherin or Ravenclaw, there’s a fan-fiction tale to suit all types of fans. With the 80,000 or so works all split into relative categories, it’s easy to find a story you like and fall in love with the magical world once again.

With such expertise on Harry Potter, they were the perfect people to offer tips on how to unleash your inner wizard:

“Stay active in the fandom! Even though it’s been almost eight years since the release of the final Harry Potter book, the fandom is still going strong. Read and write fan fiction (at HPFF!), discuss the books with your real life and online friends, reread the books, introduce the books to today’s children, go to conventions, and go to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter!”

We got in touch with Harry Potter Fan Fiction to find out why enthusiasts should check out their website, and here’s what they had to say:

“Harry Potter Fan Fiction is solely dedicated to the world of Harry Potter. After 14 years of operation, HPFF remains one of the few dedicated Harry Potter Fan Fiction sites on the Internet. This allows for more precise searching amongst more than 80,000 stories currently in its archive. With such a large amount of stories and the ability to narrow searches, it is easy for any reader to find exactly what they are looking for.

“The community. Many of our users have said they came for the stories and stayed for the sense of community. Our forum has an active, dedicated community of Harry Potter fans who are always eager to discuss Harry Potter, writing, and a wide variety of other topics. Through our forum, members can get assistance with plot ideas, request reviews, find beta readers, and more.”

Potterish

Offering more than just details on the books, Potterish offers everything from details about the Warner Brothers Studio Tour, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter and even information about what the actors from the movies are doing now. There really is a wizard’s sleeve of fun to be found through Potterish, such as the origin of Azkaban and other names, the locations where the films were shot and even errors that appear in both the books and films.

Pottermore

The fan site to beat all fan sites, Pottermore is a fantastic online experience created by J.K Rowling that has been built entirely around the Harry Potter books and is the place to head for those who want to explore the world of the boy wizard in incredible detail. Whether you want to find out which Hogwarts house you belong to, learn how to brew a potion or even cast a spell, Potterheads have hours of fun to contend with.

Harry Potter Alliance

A non-profit organisation run by Harry Potter Fans, The Harry Potter Alliance calls upon the love of Harry Potter to help change the world for the better. From ensuring that all Harry Potter Chocolate is made using fair trade ingredients, to campaigning against the most fundamental issues of human rights, the Harry Potter Alliance remains a fantastic organisation.

Warner Brothers Harry Potter Studio Tour

First opening in March 2012, the Warner Brothers Studio Tour literally brings the world of Hogwarts to Hertfordshire, with visitors able to stroll the grounds of the School of Magic, step inside the Great Hall and even walk along Diagon Alley. After you’ve toured the grounds, you can even enjoy a nice glass of Butterbeer. As you can see from the image below, it really is an unmissable experience for fans of the Harry Potter films. If you aren’t in a position to discover the Wizarding World of Harry Potter through our Orlando theme park passes, the Studio Tour offers a fantastic alternative.

The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook

There are so many unique food and drink recipes described and highlighted through the books, with Butterbeer perhaps the most famous of all. It’s led to many people trying to recreate them in their homes, and perfecting these recipes could provide the perfect Harry Potter dining experience. Fortunately, Dinah Buchotz has gone to the effort to document the very best food and drink recipes in the Unofficial Harry Potter Cook Book. With Hagrid’s Treacle Fudge and Pumpkin Pasties just two of the delights on the menu, it’s the perfect book for those who want the complete experience of the world of wizards.

We asked Dinah for her best tips on how ‘Muggles’ can release their inner wizard, and here’s what she had to say:

“Be Bold.

Try new foods. Experience what you’ve always wondered about and learn about things you never knew existed.

“Creating good food is a type of magic in its own right. Unleash your inner wizard and discover the magic of Harry Potter food. You will feel wizardly and Hogwarty when you recreate your own Hogwarts feast, topped off by Harry’s favorite dessert, treacle tart.

“Food plays an important role in Harry Potter; it’s interwoven so thoroughly into the setting that it’s almost like its own character. Who doesn’t want to fall through the pages right into Harry’s first sumptuous feast at Hogwarts, with its twenty-plus dishes?

“The cookbook is a must-have for fans because it contains recipes for all the foods mentioned in all seven books in one place. Each recipe has been carefully researched and tested to provide you with the most authentic feel of the culture of Harry Potter’s world.

Here’s to good cooking and happy eating!”
