Domhnall Gleeson receives IFTA nomination for role in “Frank”
After four nominations (including last year’s for About Time) resulting in two wins, Domhnall Gleeson (Bill Weasley) has been nominated for yet another Irish Film and Television Award (IFTA)! This time, Domhnall is being recognized for his role in the 2014 comedy-drama Frank, in which he plays Jon, a young aspiring musician who saves a man named Don from an attempted suicide and eventually joins Don’s band.
Additionally, Domhnall is rumored to be in talks to join Tom Cruise and Sarah Wright in the upcoming film Mena! The film is about a TWA pilot named Barry Seal who is recruited by the CIA to spy on a communist threat in Central America, only to end up leading one of the largest covert operations in the agency’s history.
The IFTA Film & Drama Awards will be held in Dublin, Ireland, on Sunday, May 24. You can find the full list of nominees here.
