REVIEW: Lord Voldemort sixth scale figure by Star Ace Toys Ltd. from Sideshow Collectibles

by Mary Wojcicki · May 9, 2015

Over the past few months, I have been fortunate enough to be able to review some of the amazing products over at Sideshow Collectibles. This time, I’m back with another review: the Lord Voldemort sixth scale figure by Star Ace Toys Ltd., which was furnished by Sideshow Collectibles. While I don’t know of too many people who would be thrilled to have the real Lord Voldemort enter their homes, rest assured that this is a much safer alternative.

FROM THE BOX

Like the Harry Potter figure I reviewed back in February, Lord Voldemort comes in a box inspired by the film off of which the figure’s appearance was based. For this figure, it’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named looks just as evil as would be expected:

One of the first things I noticed about Lord Voldemort was that he comes with two different head sculpts: one has a closed mouth, while the other is open. Also like the Harry Potter figure, Lord Voldemort comes with a number of props and additional hands.

THE FIGURE

The Lord Voldemort figure itself is wonderfully made. The paint on the two head sculpts, hands, and even feet are incredibly detailed, right down to the veins on Voldemort’s head. I really liked seeing that Voldemort’s bare feet and hands both have his gray, claw-like nails.

Here’s a look at both of the head sculpts:

Here, you can see the detail in Voldemort’s hands and feet:

THE PROPS

The Lord Voldemort figure comes with a number of props: two wands (his and the Elder Wand), a jet of green light, a ball of fire, and extensions to his robe (which magnetically attach). Also included are four additional hands. The figure also comes with a clear plastic stand (not pictured).

Out of the props, my personal favorite, is the jet of green light. It has a small hole in one end meant for the tip of a wand, and it can be inserted into the stand to look like Voldemort is casting the Killing Curse. He looks right at home:

As with the Harry Potter figure before him, Lord Voldemort comes with a lot of small parts. The wands are especially fragile.

OVERALL

Overall, I am blown away by the level of craftsmanship apparent in the Lord Voldemort sixth scale figure by Star Ace Toys Ltd. As the Sideshow Collectibles website describes, the figure really is an “authentic likeness” of Ralph Fiennes as Lord Voldemort. If you find yourself more inclined toward the Dark Arts (or simply want a wonderful figure to add to your collection), then the Lord Voldemort sixth scale figure by Star Ace Toys Ltd. from Sideshow Collectibles is a must-have item.

The figure is now shipping from Sideshow Collectibles and can be yours for $190.00. You can click here for more information about the product.

Additional figures available from Sideshow Collectibles include Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Sirius Black, plus an official replica of The Monster Book of Monsters!

Did You Know

So many fans visit King’s Cross Station to take pictures of Platforms 9 and 10 that the station management erected a sign that says “Platform 9 3/4,” which, in the Harry Potter books, is invisible to Muggles but acts as a gateway for witches and wizards.

Potter History

June 15, 2011 – Pottermore’s teaser website is launched with a countdown to the reveal. No further information is given.
