Join the Party with MuggleNet at London’s YALC

Earlier today we were delighted to announce that MuggleNet will be teaming up with UK charity Booktrust to bring a Harry Potter party to YALC (the Young Adult Literature Convention) at London Film and Comic Con.

Join us as we celebrate the magic of Potter and bring our GNOMEs (Gruellingly Nauseous and Onerous MuggleNet Exercises) to life with fantastic games and competitions. It’s your chance to prove you are a Potter superfan, show off your knowledge, and win points for your House! Not to mention our amazing cosplay competition where only the most magical will be crowned as the YALC Wizard Champion!

YALC was launched in July 2014 by Waterstones Children’s Laureate Malorie Blackman. The event was the first large-scale literature convention devoted to young adult books in the UK and saw thousands of young people attending a weekend of events to celebrate their love of reading.

This year’s event will be even bigger with over 60 YA authors taking part, including Malorie Blackman, Judy Blume, Cassandra Clare, Derek Landy, Annabel Pitcher, and many, many more.

We are beyond excited to be able to take part in this fantastic convention with an hour-long Harry Potter party to draw the first day of programming to a close. The party will take place in the dedicated Book Zone on Friday, July 17 at 6:30-7:30 p.m. For YALC tickets and further information about the convention, visit Booktrust’s YALC page or follow them on twitter @YALC_UK.

If you’re like us and you can’t wait until next month’s party, or you can’t attend due to a sad lack of Floo Powder, why not tweet us your own Potter cosplay pictures and join our virtual #HarryPotterParty there!
