“Cursed Child” Composer Imogen Heap to Appear at Disrupt London

Imogen Heap, who is the composer currently working on upcoming Potter play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, will be speaking at technology event Disrupt London this month. Heap is a classically trained multi-instrumentalist and singer who is best known for her innovative use of technology in her compositions. In the past, this has included using cardboard tubes and fan-submitted samples of everyday life, or ‘sound seeds,’ in her music. She is speaking at the the festival about her recent use of blockchain technology to release her last song, “Tiny Human.”

Any fans of Potter wishing to hear the Ivor Novello-winning composer speak at the technology festival taking place December 7-9 can buy tickets here.  It will certainly be interesting to see what effect Imogen Heap’s other work has on her composition for Cursed Child.

How excited are you for Cursed Child? Let us know!

I've been making magic at MuggleNet since 2012, when I first joined the staff as a News intern. I've never wavered from the declaration in my childhood journal, circa October 2000: "I LOVE Harry Potter! If I clean my room, my mom says she'll make me a dinner a wizard would love!" Proud Gryffindor; don't hate.
