Rumor: More Casting for “Cursed Child” Underway!

With shows opening this year (this year!!) and the trio already announced, it seems that more casting for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child might be getting underway.

Sources have confirmed that casting is underway for the following:

We are looking for young male actors to play large, central roles. We are looking for white actors aged 17yrs – 24yrs. Must be below 5’7[“] in height. Excellent RP or Estuary accents are essential.

The name of the role has not been confirmed, but the age would suggest one of the Potter children, most likely James Sirius, or perhaps Teddy Lupin. There is also the possibility that this could be an entirely new character!

Although that is the only confirmed casting, there is a lot of rumor going around that strongly suggests other shows are also being cast:

The show also seems to be looking to cast significant, though small, roles for a boy and a Caucasian girl who can play 9 to 14 years old. The names of these roles have also not been revealed, but perhaps they are pointing toward Albus Severus, Hugo Weasley, Lily Luna, Rose Weasley, or maybe even Scorpius Malfoy.

The wording could also suggest that this play may take place over several years, with characters growing up and attending several years of Hogwarts over the course of the show.

With preview shows coming in May, it seems that casting should be in full swing! We can’t wait to meet the rest of the cast for this production!
