Publishing Partners Announced For “Fantastic Beasts” Merchandise!

With the release date for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them growing nearer and nearer, we have our first hint of merchandise to come! As we first reported last week, global publishing partners announced for Fantastic Beasts-related merchandise through Warner Bros. Consumer Products, including Insight Editions (the publishers for a number of Harry Potter products, including the Monster Book of Monsters prop replica and Harry Potter: A Pop-Up Book), Scholastic, and HarperCollins!

Of the deal, Raoul Goff, CEO of Insight Editions, said,

Insight is thrilled to continue working with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, extending our current line of Harry Potter film-related products to include Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The Fantastic Beasts line will have a little something for everybody and will feature all of the hallmarks of quality and creativity that fans have come to expect from the Harry Potter film publishing program.

A number of the products from Insight Editions have been published through HarperCollins and Scholastic, such as the Harry Potter Coloring Book.

Insight Editions Acquires Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them Film Publishing Program Through Warner Bros. Consumer Products

March 29, 2016 (San Rafael, CA)—In partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, Insight Editions has acquired rights to a global publishing program for the highly anticipated film series Fantastic Beasts. The program, which launches in Fall 2016, will include deluxe novelty and interactive books across a variety of formats.

For the last seven years, Insight Editions has published a wide range of books and collectible products for the Harry Potter franchise, including the Monster Book of Monsters prop replica (featuring a limited edition of Harry Potter: The Creature Vault), Harry Potter: A Pop-Up Book, and several other titles and formats released in over twenty-five languages worldwide.

In addition to products they have published themselves, Insight Editions has created multiple books for the Harry Potter film franchise that have been published in the US through HarperCollins and Scholastic—including the New York Times bestsellers Harry Potter: Film WizardryHarry Potter: Page to Screen, and Harry Potter Coloring Book.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is slated for worldwide release in 2D and 3D in select theatres and IMAX on November 18, 2016. Specific announcements on Insight Editions product offerings are planned throughout 2016.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them marks the screenwriting debut of J.K. Rowling, whose beloved Harry Potter books were adapted into the top-grossing film franchise of all time. Her screenplay was inspired by the Hogwarts textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, written by her character Newt Scamander.

HarperCollins Publishers, in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, today announced the acquisition of all languages, worldwide publishing rights for the adult tie-in books for Warner Bros. Pictures’ Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which is slated for worldwide release in 2D and 3D in select theatres and IMAX on November 18, 2016.

The Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film script is written by J.K. Rowling, transporting the audience to the wizarding world of 1920s New York. Academy-Award®-winner Eddie Redmayne stars as wizarding world magizoologist Newt Scamander.

With an exciting script and sumptuous visuals, the film provides a wealth of material for publishing adult tie-ins. The HarperCollins titles will delve into, and behind the scenes of, the richly textured film and its sequels to enhance fans’ enjoyment of the new stories. Books will include details about how the films were made, the process of art and design, interviews with the cast and crew, and interactive formats such as colouring and postcard books.
