Newt Scamander Meets Doctor Strange!

by Sophie Reid · Published October 29, 2016 · Updated May 4, 2018

Eddie Redmayne (Newt Scamander) appeared last night on The Graham Norton Show to promote Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, Bryan Cranston, and LeAnn Rimes.

Eddie was there to talk about his role as Newt Scamander in Fantastic Beasts, while Benedict spoke about upcoming Marvel film Doctor Strange. The pair discussed the fact that both of them are currently starring in films about magic and joked about a potential crossover. The duo also talked a little about their often parallel journeys – with Oscar nominations and honors from Buckingham Palace.

Eddie also talked about meeting J.K. Rowling, playing Newt, and his childhood love of magic. Some clips, including one of Eddie showing off some magic, have been put online, and you can see them below.

A clip from the film, showing Eddie with his Niffler, was also shown – but you’ll have to watch the show to see it!

The Graham Norton Show, featuring Eddie Redmayne, airs on Saturday nights on BBC America. Find out more here. British viewers with TV licenses can catch up now on IPlayer.
