Official First Look at Emma Watson’s “Beauty and the Beast”!
Entertainment Weekly has released an exciting first look at Emma Watson’s live-action Beauty and the Beast. An image of Emma as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast graces the front cover of the upcoming edition of Entertainment Weekly. This marks our first official look at Emma in costume – and in that iconic ballgown. Check it out below.
Inside the magazine, there are eight brand new photographs from the upcoming film, giving us our first proper glimpse at Gaston, Maurice, Mrs. Potts (played by another Potter alumna, Emma Thompson), Lumiere, Cogsworth, and Plumette.
We think it looks great, and we can’t wait to finally learn more about this film. It’s safe to say that Emma is as big a fan of the original animated classic as the rest of us.
I can’t even think how many times I watched it as a child. I knew all the words by heart. I knew all the songs by heart.
We can’t wait to learn more about her portrayal of the character. The magazine will feature an interview with Emma, alongside Dan Stevens, Josh Gad (Le Fou), and Luke Evans (Gaston), and we’ll also hear from
director Bill Condon and costume designer Jacqueline Durran, who talked about creating the new version of the iconic yellow dress Belle wears in the original film’s ballroom scene. In addition, we chatted with Ewan McGregor, who voices the enchanted, ‘Be Our Guest’-performing candelabra Lumière, and Sir Ian McKellen, who plays the clock Cogsworth.
That’s not all!
Readers can also find out about the film’s new songs — penned by Alan Menken and Tim Rice — and feast their eyes on an array of exclusive photos featuring all of the aforementioned characters as well as Belle’s father, Maurice (Kevin Kline), Mrs Potts. (Emma Thompson), and Plumette (Gugu Mbatha-Raw).
The issue of Entertainment Weekly featuring a special look at Beauty and the Beast will be released this Friday, November 4.
Beauty and the Beast will be released next year, March 17.
