Johnny Depp Feels “Lucky” to Be a Part of “Fantastic Beasts”!

by Shachi Tiwari · Published May 13, 2017 · Updated January 24, 2018

From the eccentric Mad Hatter to the rum-loving Captain Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp is no stranger to all things weird and wacky. And now, Depp feels nothing but excitement to have become a part of J.K. Rowling’s wonderful world of magic!

Depp, who plays Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, is known and respected as an extremely versatile actor, so it is hardly surprising that Depp continues to experiment with new movies. Similarly to Jude Law, who will play a young Albus Dumbledore in the Fantastic Beasts sequels, Depp expresses his gratitude and praises both J.K. Rowling and the film’s story.

I made an appearance in the film. I want to experiment with new films. The idea is that. It is an amazing story. She (J.K. Rowling) is an amazing woman, so I feel lucky to be chosen to be a part of ‘Fantastic Beasts.’

Despite Depp’s brief appearance in the first film, fans can ready themselves to witness a lot more of Depp in action as the fearsome Dark wizard who ultimately became Dumbledore’s biggest enemy. We can’t wait!

Directed by David Yates, the second Fantastic Beasts film is scheduled for release next year and will explore the multifaceted relationship between Grindelwald and Dumbledore. Of course, Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston will return to reprise their respective roles as Newt Scamander and Porpentina Goldstein!

What do you think of Johnny Depp’s amazing acting versatility? Are you eagerly awaiting the on-screen story of Dumbledore and Grindelwald’s relationship? Let us know in the comments below!
