Listen to James and Oliver Phelps Preside Over an Evening of “Potter” Music

Don’t have plans this Friday night? Even if you do, UK readers may want to tune their radios to Witches, Wizards, Magic and Spells, a special BBC concert program during which James and Oliver Phelps present an evening of magical music.

The concert, which originally took place in Watford in May 2017, will air Friday, January 12, at 8:00 p.m. GMT on BBC Radio 2. The program includes music by Potter composers John Williams, Patrick Doyle, Nicholas Hooper, and Alexandre Desplat, as well as other pieces with a wizard-ish vibe, like Dukas’ The Sorcerer’s Apprentice and Stravinsky’s The Firebird. For the more musical theater inclined, there will also be vocal performances from Wicked, The Little Mermaid, and The Wizard of Oz.

For those who can’t tune in live, the concert will be available to stream online shortly after it airs.

I've been making magic at MuggleNet since 2012, when I first joined the staff as a News intern. I've never wavered from the declaration in my childhood journal, circa October 2000: "I LOVE Harry Potter! If I clean my room, my mom says she'll make me a dinner a wizard would love!" Proud Gryffindor; don't hate.
