Events Roundup: Forget Your Muggle Troubles with These Upcoming Festivals

Pack your trunk and dust off your robes because there is a magical weekend ahead!

Transfigured Town’s 2018 Festival of Wizardry is taking place from Friday, September 21 to Sunday, September 23 in Blyth, Ontario.

The festival is celebrating its third year and is bigger and better than before, with more prizes, more contests, and more opportunities to take a break from all the Muggles and socialize with your fellow witches and wizards. This festival is one of the biggest of its kind, and not only does it present you with the opportunity to meet more magical folk, you can also have them join you in forgetting all about your Muggle troubles over a nice pint of butterbeer.

It wouldn’t be a truly magical event if there weren’t a Weasley involved somewhere, which is why this year, you can also catch a glimpse of actress Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), who will be making an appearance on September 23 to sign autographs and take photos with fans. She will also be interviewed on stage for the guests.

On top of all this, the festival will also include actor workshops, meet and greets, an official Quidditch Canada tournament, interactive classes, costume contests, virtual wizardry, photo booths, and themed beer, along with some cocktails and mocktails for the underage witch or wizard.

Transfigured Town’s 2018 Festival of Wizardry is taking place from September 21 to September 23 in Blyth, Ontario, from 9:00 a.m to 7:00 p.m. each day. You can grab your tickets here.

Don’t live anywhere near Blyth? Don’t worry, if you are in the United States, you have been cordially invited to Wizard Fest.

This is the ultimate Harry Potter–themed dance party, hosted by Pop Up Party Tours, which transforms venues in different cities into Hogwarts and throws an epic costume contest (groups are encouraged to participate), with cash prizes and goodie bags to the best dressed. You will also stand a chance to win your own magical prizes. Butterbeer and other Harry Potter–themed drinks like Firewhiskey, potent potions, and buttery brews will be served, and there will be Quidditch pong all night, in which you can win drinks and prizes. Do note that no cats, owls, or toads are allowed in the venue, so make sure they are good for the night before you grab your tickets. Wizard Fest is taking place in cities throughout the United States between September 19 and November 9 – find dates and locations here.

If you live in the Wisconsin area, you have the opportunity to attend the Midwest Magic Fest, which is taking place at the Waukesha County Expo Center in Wisconsin from Saturday, September 22 to Sunday, September 23. This festival promises eight magical performances, an interactive wizards wand duel, making your own wand and potions bottles, and costume contests, among other things. So pack your trunk, dust off your broom, and get ready for a magical weekend, starting by buying your tickets here.

Growing up, I was a massive fan of Harry Potter and my love for the stories grew as I got older. It’s no surprise then that I love writing about all things Potter related. When I’m not writing about all the magic, you’ll find me reading (probably something Harry Potter related), listening to music, or writing some songs.
