Review and Giveaway: Win a “HARRY POTTER™ HOGWARTS™ Express” Glitter Globe from The Bradford Exchange!

by Lucy Demuth · May 21, 2019

Harry Potter collectors, I have a treat to share with you! I recently added to my collection this gorgeous item from The Bradford Exchange that features a moving Hogwarts Express train, and I am over the moon in love with this piece.

The “HARRY POTTER™ HOGWARTS™ Express” Glitter Globe is a beautiful, hand-painted piece of work, and the detail from the castle to the train is spectacular. The globe can light up with just a swish and flick of your wand. You can choose to play “Hedwig’s Theme” if you are so inclined. The train even travels around the snow globe, so what’s not to love?!

The “HOGWARTS™ Express,” with its classic red color, is something I can’t keep my eyes off of as it travels around the globe, coming out of one tunnel and disappearing into another a second later. Take a look at the train in action via our product video below!

The subtle hints to the four House animals and the Platform 9 3/4 sign on the rocks are beautiful additions to this musical globe. I also can’t forget to mention how beautiful the castle is, with glitter falling around it and the lights illuminating the castle, all while the globe plays the beautiful and iconic song from the films, “Hedwig’s Theme”!

My favorite part is that you have two options to turn on the globe. First, you can have the train moving, with “Hedwig’s Theme” playing and the lights on. Second, you can turn the switch on halfway so that the music doesn’t play but the train continues to make its journey to the station – this is a great feature for someone like me, who can’t study with music playing.

As you can see the Hogwarts motto just above the train tracks, I think it would have been great if they had placed the Hogwarts crest above the motto rather than the picture of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. In my opinion, the photo of the trio takes away from the magic of the globe and makes the product look a bit cheap.
