Review: “Harry Potter” Holiday Sweater from Merchoid!

by Stephanie Norton · February 28, 2020

Wanting to stay in during the cold winter months? The holiday knitted sweaters from Merchoid will keep you warm as well as show off your Potter pride. Even if you have to venture out to your holiday party or are invited to dinner in the Great Hall, these sweaters are sure to please. Our Graphics Coordinator, Stephanie, is sharing her review of these cozy sweaters!

“I’d Rather Stay at Hogwarts” knitted Christmas sweater from Merchoid

I thoroughly enjoy ugly Christmas sweaters, and this “I’d Rather Stay at Hogwarts This Christmas” knitted sweater from Merchoid is no exception. It is a perfect Christmas sweater.

This sweater comes in male and female versions and sizes extra small to 3X large. What is really nice is that when choosing your size, it tells you which size it’s close to in the US. I purchased a large because, in the US, it fits a size 10.

Upon receiving the item, I excitedly tore open the package and unveiled a beautifully crafted and cozy-looking sweater. I hastily put it on, gazed into the mirror, and jumped around in excitement at how good I looked!

I will say that I do think the sweater runs a tad big. I ordered a female large, and it falls low around my hands and waist, but I like longer tops on myself anyway, so I wasn’t quite bothered. But if you would like a tighter-fitting sweater, then I would recommend sizing down. The sweater is 100% acrylic but not scratchy at all. You could wear this without a shirt underneath and be totally fine. After walking around in it for about ten minutes, I felt very warm, just as a Christmas sweater should be. The collar felt a little tighter than I expected, but it really didn’t bother me much.

This sweater is machine-washable!!!! This is huge for me because anytime I find an ugly Christmas sweater, it’s hand-wash only. And who’s got time to be hand-washing a sweater after each wear? On the tag, though, it does say to keep away from fire in pretty big red letters, so just remember to not stand too close to that Christmas yule log or you’ll be Incendio-ing the house.

While this sweater is a perfect wear for parties, it’s so tastefully well made that you can wear it to work, should your office allow. With it being the Christmas season, I definitely will, and I cannot wait to be donning this sweater at least once at work before the big man comes down the chimney.

If you want to be the talk of the ugly Christmas party, the “Ho Ho Hufflepuff” knitted Christmas sweater from Merchoid will allow you to be just that.

This sweater runs big. I ordered a female large, and it falls low around my hands and waist, but I do like tunic-length tops. Definitely size down if you want a more fitted look. The sweater is 100% acrylic but not scratchy at all. You could wear this without a shirt underneath and be totally fine. After walking around in it for about ten minutes, I felt very toasty, just as an ugly Christmas sweater should be.

This sweater is so tastefully well made and so incredibly ridiculous that you will want to show it off to your friends.
