Rupert Grint and Gemma Chan Back Awesome Fundraising Campaign for Health Care Workers

When times are tough, it’s always good to turn your attention to the people who are trying their best to help in any way they can. We must say, it’s nice to take a look around and see some of the Harry Potter alumni trying to do their bit to support the health care workers who are risking their lives on a daily basis in the battle against COVID-19.

Not long ago, Tom Felton and Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy) blessed all of us by collaborating on a video call in support of the British Red Cross. Now, Daniel Radcliffe is reading the first chapter of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone for Harry Potter at Home, and Emma Watson recently spoke to author Valerie Hudson about feminism and gender equality. Seeing our favorite Potter actors trying their best to do their part during these trying times is nothing short of inspiring – and the good deeds keep coming. This time, the spotlight is on Rupert Grint and Gemma Chan (Madam Ya Zhou in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them).

Both Grint and Chan are supporting a new charity campaign that raises funds for health care workers and NHS staff. The campaign, a collaboration between Choose Love (an organization that raises money for the charity Help Refugees by selling cool T-shirts) and British fashion retail store ASOS, is now selling new T-shirts that feature slogans like “Choose Our NHS” and “Choose Our Carers.” All the profits made from the shirts will be donated to the Care Workers Charity and NHS Charities Together to aid health care workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Chan, who is also one of the official faces of the campaign, took to Instagram to showcase her T-shirt and raise awareness.

Katharine Hamnett, who created the original Choose Love T-shirts to support the charity Help Refugees, designed these new shirts. They are made of 100% organic cotton and will be priced at £20 ($25). To top it off, ASOS will also be making an additional donation that will match the net profits that are raised through the sales on its site.

It goes without saying that this is a cause worthy of everyone’s support. Will you be joining Grint and Chan in donning one of these shirts to show your support for health care workers? If the answer is yes, you can head over to ASOS’s website and order yours now.

Growing up, I was a massive fan of Harry Potter and my love for the stories grew as I got older. It’s no surprise then that I love writing about all things Potter related. When I’m not writing about all the magic, you’ll find me reading (probably something Harry Potter related), listening to music, or writing some songs.
