“Harry Potter” Statue Coming to “Scenes in the Square” Statue Trail
Harry Potter will soon join a trail of stars in Leicester Square in London. Leicester Square is home to “Scenes in the Square,” which features incredible statues of main characters from different iconic films from over the past 100 years.
This statue will show Harry taking flight on his Nimbus 2000 broomstick, as seen in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Fittingly, the statue will be placed on the north terrace of the square, which is only a very short distance from the location where the first film premiered in 2001.
The statue of Harry Potter is set to be revealed later this month. It will remain in Leicester Square with the other statues until at least July 2023.
Mark Williams, Head of Marketing at Heart of London Business Alliance, is very excited about the latest addition to the square. He has high hopes for this new statue to bring a magical new aspect to London tourism.
We can’t wait for Harry Potter fans from the UK and around the world to be able to visit this historic new statue, re-experience the movies and share their selfies for many years to come.
“Scenes in the Square” has several other stars featured so far, including Mary Poppins, Paddington, Mr. Bean, Gene Kelly from Singin’ in the Rain, Bugs Bunny, Laurel and Hardy, Batman, and Wonder Woman. There are also five empty plots available for future additions to the square.
How excited are you for the reveal of this statue? We absolutely can’t wait!
