Potter DIY: Mini Book Charms

by Brandy from Simply Potter

This mini book charm craft is honestly one of my favorite crafts that I have done to date! I have always wanted to make them, but they seemed a little daunting. Surprisingly, they were super simple and took about 20-30 minutes (not counting bake time) to make!

What You’ll Need:

  • Printouts of the covers of the books you want to miniaturize
  • Scissors
  • White clay
  • Something with a straight edge
  • Eye pins
  • Tacky glue
  • Mod Podge
  • A paintbrush

Directions:

Step 1: Print and cut out your desired book covers.

Step 2: Fold the spine of your book to shape it.

Step 3: Roll and flatten your clay to fill in the space between the covers of your book.

Step 4: Trim off any excess clay.

Step 5: Place an eye pin into the top of your clay so that the hole sticks out at the top.

Step 6: Use your straight edge to make pages for your book by making indents on the sides of the clay.

Step 7: Remove the book cover and bake the clay in the oven.

Step 8: Adhere the book cover to your dry and cooled clay using tacky glue.

Step 9: Add a layer of Mod Podge to the cover for a nice, glossy finish.

There you have it – your very own set of mini Harry Potter books!
