Castium Revelio: Angels, Demons, and Dukes

Welcome to this week’s Casting News! Last week, we told you about two upcoming roles for Jason Isaacs, and we showed you photos of Freddie Stroma and Bill Nighy in costume for their latest projects. Although we don’t have any more photos this week, we do have a new trailer featuring Jim Broadbent and an exciting reprising role for David Tennant. Without further ado, let’s get started! Castium Revelio!

Harry Potter Cast and Crew

We're starting off this week with exciting news from the West End. Ralph Fiennes's (Lord Voldemort) production of Four Quartets is set to hit the West End later this year after its tour across the UK. You'll be able to see the play from November 18 to December 18 at the Harold Pinter Theatre, and tickets are available now!

Next up, we have news of an announcement about RoyDavid Bradley (Argus Filch) plays the lead role in the short film, which was released earlier this year. It has been selected as part of the LA Shorts Film Festival! The festival is running throughout this month, with Roy screening between July 13 and July 31.

Stephen Fry (narrator of the UK Harry Potter audiobooks) will be featured on the Apple Fitness+ series Time to Walk. The audio-based series aims to help Fitness+ subscribers keep active by going on walks. The new episodes feature several celebrities in addition to Fry, including model Naomi Campbell, boxer Anthony Joshua, and actress Gina Rodriguez.

Do you remember when we told you about Jim Broadbent's (Professor Slughorn) role in The Duke? Sony Pictures Classics has now released the first trailer for the comedy film! The movie will follow Kempton Bunton, the 60-year-old taxi driver who stole a portrait of the Duke of Wellington from the National Gallery in London. Check out the trailer below!

The National Film Awards UK finally happened this week, after being pushed back several times, and we have one winner to tell you about. Gemma Jones (Madam Pomfrey) won the award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in Rocketman. She was the only Harry Potter alumnus to walk away with an award, despite nominations for Timothy Spall (Peter Pettigrew), Helen McCrory (Narcissa Malfoy), Julie Walters (Mrs. Weasley), and many more.

We've got an exciting announcement from Amazon Studios. Good Omens, the fantasy comedy show starring David Tennant (Barty Crouch Jr.) as Crowley, is returning for a second season! After the success of the first season back in 2019, we can't wait to follow the adventures of angel-demon duo Aziraphale (who is played by Michael Sheen) and Crowley. The show was originally based on the book by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, but this second season will go beyond the written content to explore the two characters' friendship.

The movie will focus on the Beast Wars and will introduce the Maximals, Predacons, and Terrorcons to the battles unfolding on Earth. Perlman last voiced the character in the animated series Transformers: Power of the Primes. We can't wait to see him step back into his shoes!
