“SpeakBeasty” Bonus Episode: “Fireworks, Pickett, and Bunty, Oh My!”

We have a trailer! This morning, the official trailer for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore dropped, and we couldn’t wait to talk about it, so hosts Amy, Ann, Marjolaine, and Shannen recorded a bonus episode to break it down shot by shot.

Our hosts recorded this episode minutes after viewing the trailer for the first time, and after years of waiting, we can confirm it was worth it. The trailer gives us two minutes and 45 seconds of footage from the third installment in the film series. In the trailer, we see characters we already know, including Newt Scamander, Jacob Kowalski, Albus Dumbledore, Theseus Scamander, Yusuf Kama, Queenie Goldstein, Credence Barebone, and Bunty. Tina Goldstein is noticeably missing, but we do get our first glimpse of Mads Mikkelson as Gellert Grindelwald.

The trailer also confirms Aberforth Dumbledore’s appearance in the film. Our hosts deduced Richard Coyle would be portraying the younger Dumbledore brother based on the actor’s Twitter location being set to Hogsmeade and his rather glorious mustache. We also see Ilvermorny Charms professor Eulalie Hicks taking on a much bigger role in this film. We previously had only a glimpse of her in Nicolas Flamel’s book in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, but Eulalie is featured in many of the scenes shown throughout the trailer for Secrets of Dumbledore

Join our hosts as we discuss all of the new characters, locations, and magical creatures shown to us in this first trailer for Secrets of Dumbledore.

I was 9 years old when I discovered the magic that is “Harry Potter.” I am a proud Hufflepuff and exceedingly good at eating, reading, being sarcastic, and over-thinking small tasks. Since I spent too much time worrying about the correct way to write this bio, this is all I was able to come up with before the deadline.
