“SpeakBeasty” Episode 151: “Mads’ Magical Moments”

In this episode of SpeakBeasty, hosts Ann, Shannen, and Marjolaine discuss Mads Mikkelsen‘s portrayal of Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.

It’s safe to say that we’re mad for Mads. Our hosts discuss what he brought to the role, namely, his interactions with other characters on the screen. We discuss the dynamic between Mikkelsen’s Grindelwald and Queenie, both in the moments that made the final cut and in deleted scenes. Our hosts point out that when interacting with Credence, Mikkelson kept some of the Graves vibes from the first film.

In addition to Mikkelsen’s approach to the character, our hosts also talk in depth about Grindelwald’s role in this film. From his visions to his influence on powerful figures, there’s much to cover.

I was 9 years old when I discovered the magic that is “Harry Potter.” I am a proud Hufflepuff and exceedingly good at eating, reading, being sarcastic, and over-thinking small tasks. Since I spent too much time worrying about the correct way to write this bio, this is all I was able to come up with before the deadline.
