New “Fantastic Beasts” Collection Coming to Loungefly

by Elyse Maupin-Thomas · September 17, 2022

Fall term may have just started, but Loungefly is already making us consider updating our school supplies. Well-known for its collectible fashion and accessories, the retailer will soon be releasing a collection of licensed Wizarding World products themed around Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore. What’s certainly not a secret is just how ready we are for this collection to drop.

First up is what will be an excellent addition to your already vast collection of Harry Potter-themed backpacks. Loungefly’s Magical Books Mini Backpack features Hogwarts’ required reading list in the form of decorative textbook spines that adorn the front zipper pocket. An allover magical print covers the rest of the bag with an enchanting textbook design and coordinates with the inside lining. The backpack is sturdy enough for a book or two, boasting vegan leather, adjustable straps, and metal hardware. The Magical Books Mini Backpack will be available to purchase for $80.

Wizards on the go are sure to get a lot of use out of the Magical Books Chain Strap Crossbody Bag. Matching the mini backpack, this bag puts magical learning at the forefront with textbooks such as Achievements in Charming, Extreme Incantations, Weird Wizarding Dilemmas and Their Solutions, and Sonnets of a Sorceror. Yours for $70, it will keep your belongings close and encourage you to study. Better get to the library for a bit of light reading.

Speaking of libraries, Loungefly’s Magical Books Zip Around Wallet has just the compartment to keep your library card safe. Coordinating with the other items in the collection, the wallet features textbook spines, enchanted book prints, and metal hardware. Inside, there are five slots for various cards as well as a clear pocket for an ID. This item will be listed for sale at $40.

In short, Loungefly’s new Fantastic Beasts collection has precisely the sorts of products Hermione Granger would approve of, with the addition of an Undetectable Extension Charm, of course. What will you be adding to your merchandise collection? Let us know in the comments below.

It’s high time I paid homage to the mighty MuggleNet. Where to start? I love the design, (I currently favour the ‘Dementor’ layout), the polls (I actually voted in the ‘Who’s the Half-Blood Prince?’ one), the pretty-much-exhaustive information on all books and films, the wonderful editorials (more insight there than in several companion volumes I shall not name), 101 Ways to Annoy Lord Voldemort (made me laugh aloud), the Wall of Shame (nearly as funny as some of the stuff I get)… pretty much everything. Webmaster Emerson, Eric, Jamie, Damon, Ben, Matthew, Rachel, Jaymz and Sharon, I salute you.
