“Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” Will Say Goodbye to Australia

We’ve got sad news for all Harry Potter and the Cursed Child fans in Australia: The show will be performed at the Princess Theatre in Melbourne for the final time on July 9. This will be its last night in Australia, with no rumors or news of an Australian tour or a new Aussie venue.

Cursed Child first came to Australia in 2019, switching from the original two-part production to a one-part production last year. The show is Australia’s most successful, with over 1,300 performances and over one million tickets sold through its four-year run.

We are extremely proud of our Melbourne production and to be the longest-running play in the history of Australia is an extraordinary achievement.

Opening our production here has been one of the highlights in the life of our groundbreaking, astonishing show and we look forward to an amazing final five months in this glorious city.

The announcement from the Australian show comes after disappointment for fans in San Fransisco, California, with the final performance of Cursed Child at the Curran Theatre having been on September 11 last year after a run of 393 shows.

The next batch of tickets for the Melbourne show was released earlier today. Do you have memories of the Melbourne show, or are you planning to make some before July? Let us know in the comments below.
