MinaLima Releases House of Black Family Tree Collection

Following last month’s release of the MinaLima edition of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Studio MinaLima is releasing a new collection of 11 pieces that showcase the design of the Black family tapestry, familiar from the Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix movie.

Featuring the art by Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima, creators of the graphic design in the Harry Potter films, the collection includes a tote bag, an umbrella, a notebook, a trinket dish, a ceramic pot, a gift tag set, two different-sized gift bags, and three art prints. Take a look at them all below.

Eduardo Lima explained in a statement how the previously released House of Black wallpaper has sold very well and been popular among fans, so they wanted to give fans more opportunities to display the design.

The Black family tapestry collection is available now at MinaLima’s in-person stores in London and New York – perfect for your Christmas shopping if you live in one of those cities. More locations that have a House of MinaLima store are expected to begin carrying it soon. For those who don’t live near a House of MinaLima, the collection will be available internationally on MinaLima’s website as of January 12, 2024.

In addition to the wallpaper, there are a number of other items featuring the Black family tree that are currently available on the website: gift wrap, a cushion cover, a poster, art prints, and buttons featuring the Black family crest and a few individual Black family members.

Press Release

A new collection celebrating the iconic Black Family Tapestry is being released by Studio MinaLima, the graphic designers of the Harry Potter™ Films

Studio MinaLima, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, has created a collection of 11 pieces featuring a pattern based on the fan-favourite Black Family Tapestry. The tapestry was first seen in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and was designed by Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima, the artwork features the infamous witches and wizards that make up the Noble and Most Ancient House of Black, from Draco Malfoy — Harry Potter’s archnemesis — to the notorious Death Eater, Bellatrix Lestrange.

Co-founders of Studio MinaLima, Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima created the entire graphic universe of the internationally renowned Harry Potter films, including much-loved props such as Harry Potter’s Hogwarts Acceptance Letter, the Marauder’s Map and The Daily Prophet newspapers. Now, MinaLima invites fans to take a step closer to the dark side with a new Black Family Tapestry product range.

Complementing an existing highly desirable collection of homeware, stationery and accessories, the new Black Family Tapestry range includes 11 designs. Fans of the Harry Potter series and of the enigmatic Black Family Tapestry pattern will be able to decorate their home and accessorise their personal style with a tote bag, umbrella, notebook, trinket dish, ceramic pot, gift tag set, gift bags, and art prints.

Eduardo Lima comments: “Among the hundreds of props we have created for the Harry Potter films, the Black Family Tapestry remains a fan-favourite since it first appeared on the cinema screen. After the popularity of our Black Family Tapestry wallpaper, which is a continual bestseller at our shop, we knew we had to give fans more opportunities to take home their own piece of the tapestry.”

Miraphora Mina comments: “The Black Family Tapestry is a special piece of history for both the wizarding world and Studio MinaLima. As a pivotal part of Sirius Black’s story, we had to delve into the complex genealogy of one of the oldest Wizarding families and recreate techniques from medieval tapestries to capture the powerful history held within this ancestral heirloom. As a piece of storytelling, world-building, and elevated design, the Black Family Tapestry is emblematic of all the work we do here at Studio MinaLima. We are so thrilled to celebrate it in a new way with our collection.”

MinaLima’s Black Family Tapestry collection will be available in time for Christmas exclusively at House of MinaLima shops: in London from 11th November and in New York from 12th November. The collection will be available internationally for online purchase from minalima.com on the 12th January.
