James and Oliver Phelps to Host “Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking”

If some of your favorite scenes of the Harry Potter series focused on the delicious abundance of Hogwarts’s many feasts, we have some excellent news for you. All the magic of the wizarding world, as well as two of our favorite former Weasleys, will be coming to the small screen in a new baking competition show.

Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking will feature professional pastry chefs taking on the challenge of creating numerous Potter-themed confections. Gringotts vaults of macarons, floating puddings, and edible Mandrakes are just a few of the enchanting creations viewers can expect throughout the show, which is to begin production shortly. The finished series will be available to stream on Max and the Food Network this coming holiday season.

For an added dash of magic, the competition’s set will be in none other than Warner Bros. Studio Tour London – The Making of Harry Potter. The series’ description speaks more to the potential of this special location:

Viewers will see beloved locations, including inside The Great Hall at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Platform 9¾, Gringotts Wizarding Bank, The Burrow as well as props, costumes, and clips from the blockbuster films. ‘Harry Potter: Wizards of Baking’ will delight viewers as it blends the magic of Harry Potter with the very real talent of exceptional pastry chefs.

And we can’t forget about the hosts. James and Oliver Phelps, who have already proven their hosting chops via their travel show, Fantastic Friends, will be taking on the role. We can only imagine the trouble the two will get up to in a kitchen setting.

More updates are sure to come, but in the meantime, what bewitching delicacies will you hope to see on the show? Let us know in the comments.
