“Cursed Child” Ticket Purchase Process Updated

by Gayane Kaligian · February 7, 2018

Tickets for the Broadway production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child have been notoriously hard to get ahold of. They sold out within minutes of their initial release and then again today as the second batch was released. The system for reserving them has also been somewhat convoluted, requiring registration for an access code. However, that whole process is about to get a lot easier. Starting tomorrow, February 8, at 11:00 a.m. ET, further tickets will be released as and when available. These tickets will not require an access code but do rely on a queue number system to decide when you can get tickets.

Starting at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, you can join the digital waiting room and receive your queue number regardless of when you arrive. After 11:00, when tickets officially go on sale, queue numbers are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. If you don’t manage to snag a ticket, don’t fret! Ticketmaster will keep you updated on any returned tickets and other late-release tickets that become available. There’s no guarantee, but this new process will certainly make getting tickets much easier.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child opens at the Lyric Theater on Broadway on April 22, so be sure to get your tickets starting tomorrow morning!

Press Release

Today's Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Presale with Ticketmaster Verified Fan® is now complete.

From tomorrow, February 8, 2018, at 11am ET, further tickets will be released as and when available. These tickets will not require an Access Code to purchase.

Please visit the official website HarryPotterThePlay.com from10:30 am ET on Thursday, February 8 to join the 'Virtual Waiting Room' for the best chance to purchase tickets when they are released. Queue numbers will be randomly assigned to those in the Virtual Waiting Room.

You can join the Virtual Waiting Room any time from 10:30am until 11am; it will not affect which Queue Number you receive. The randomization of the Queue at 11am is to enable the purchase of tickets to be fair as possible, and to protect our customers from bots and ticket scalpers.

If you join the Queue after 11am when tickets are released, Queue numbers will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.

If you are unsuccessful in securing tickets, we advise that you keep checking the website as returned tickets and other late-release tickets will become available daily via our official ticketing partner, Ticketmaster. Seats will also become available through all performance dates due to customer returns. These are not guaranteed, but any tickets that do become available will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.
