Join Imelda Staunton for an Evening of Conversation and Fundraising!

by Aimee Krenz, Lucy O'Shea · June 20, 2018

UK Potterheads, listen up! Help Imelda Staunton (Dolores Umbridge) spread the magic of the arts by attending a unique event to raise funds for a community-run performance venue!

Jim Carter in Conversation with Imelda Staunton & Jamael Westman will take place on July 1 at Streatham Space Project in London and will give fans a chance to get up close and personal with some of the United Kingdom’s biggest names in theater, film, and television. View the invitation below and then continue reading to find out how you can purchase tickets to attend this magical event – tickets are limited!

Invitation to Exclusive Event - Jim Carter in Conversation with Jamael Westman & Imelda Staunton

We'd like to invite you to join us for a once-in-a-life-time [sic] opportunity to get up-close and personal with three of the biggest names in UK theatre & film, at a unique gala evening to raise funds for brand-new theatre venue Streatham Space Project.

Imelda Staunton is probably best known as the fearsome Dolores Umbridge in the Harry Potter films - but she is also an Oscar nominee (for Vera Drake) and a 4-time Olivier Award[-]winning actress.

Jim Carter became Britain’s best[-]known butler in Downton Abbey - but did you know that he started in Fringe Theatre and went to Circus School?

Jamael Westman grew up in Streatham - and was nominated for an Olivier Award for his current performance in the lead role of the smash-hit musical Hamilton.

Join us for a once[-]in[-]a[-]life-time [sic] opportunity to get up-close and personal with three of the biggest names in UK theatre & film at this unique gala evening, including prosecco on arrival, a Q&A with Jim, Jamael & Imelda – and for our more generous supporters buying £175 tickets, the opportunity to meet our guests in person at a private drinks reception afterwards.

You'll also be helping us nurture the local talent of the future - your support means we are able to supply a number of free tickets to ALT, who provide free actor training and showcases to people from low[-]income backgrounds, as well as to local schools - to inspire the actors of the future. Jamael trained with ALT before going to RADA, so you may well be rubbing shoulders with the stars of tomorrow - as well as the stars of today.

There will be a glass of prosecco on arrival, Jim will interview Jamael & Imelda in a seated auditorium session, then an auction of momentos [sic] from Jim & Imelda's careers and a raffle with special prizes - followed by a private drinks reception with Jim & Imelda. Streatham Space Project is a brand new theatre, comedy and music venue in south London, with a 120 seat auditorium, studio space and bar. It's run by Streatham based arts. Any extra donations would be very welcome in support of this new organisation - there will be an opportunity at ticket check out and on the night.

For tickets to the fundraising Q&A please click here.

Thank you for your support - we look forward to seeing you there.

Arrival from 4:15 pm - interview session begins at 5:00pm. The drinks reception will follow the interview.

Many thanks for your support, and we look forward to seeing you.

Staunton will be attending the event, hosted by her husband, esteemed actor Jim Carter, and they will be joined by West End’s very own Alexander Hamilton, Jamael Westman. Taking place in the intimately sized 120-seat auditorium, guests may have the opportunity to ask the actors questions related to the actors’ careers, whether that be Potter, Hamilton, or everyone’s favorite British period drama, Downton Abbey!

Streatham Space Project is a new theater, music, and comedy venue located in Streatham, South London. Funded by public donations, the venue opened in April 2018 with the aim to grow community spirit through the arts and support up-and-coming London talent.

Both Carter and Staunton have been big supporters of the project since its beginnings, as has Streatham local Westman, who has been sharing his love for the new community space on social media.
