J.K. Rowling writes foreword for charity book

We thought J.K. Rowling was devoting all of her time to Pottermore, but it turns out that she has written something else: the foreword to a new book coming out this fall entitled, Dear Me: A Letter to My Sixteen-Year-Old Self.

More than seventy celebrities, writers, actors, and musicians including: Kathleen Turner, Suze Ormond, James Franco, and Aasif Mandvi write a letter to their sixteen-year-old self.

According to J.K. Rowling, she was touched by the letters’

“commonality…Nearly everyone who wrote, whether their letter is jolly or poignant, seems to have looked back on their younger selves with compassion.”

A portion of the book’s proceeds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders.
