Last night, the annual Olivier Awards, which celebrate achievements in theater, took place in London, UK. The night saw huge success for Imelda Staunton (Professor Umbridge), alongside some other familiar names.

Imelda Staunton (Professor Dolores Umbridge) and Sir Kenneth Branagh (Professor Gilderoy Lockhart) have both received nominations for the 2016 Olivier Awards. Other nominees include Sophie Thompson (Mafalda Hopkirk in “Deathly Hallows – Part 1”), Jamie Parker (Harry in “Cursed Child”) and Sonia Friedman (Producer of “Cursed Child”).
Imelda Staunton continues to win big for her role on the West End!
Ralph Fiennes (Lord Voldemort) and Imelda Staunton (Professor Dolores Umbridge) have both received nominations for the 2015 Evening Standard Theatre Awards, which are set to take place at London’s Old Vic on November 22.
Imelda Staunton (Professor Dolores Umbridge) has won the UK Theatre Award for Best Performance in a Musical for her role as Momma Rose in the Chichester Festival Theatre’s production of “Gypsy”. The production also took home the award for Best Musical Production at Sunday’s ceremony in London.
Dolores Umbridge actress Imelda Staunton is no stranger to the stage, having previously starred in such productions as “Into the Woods” and “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street.” At the moment, she of course is starring as main character Rose in popular musical “Gypsy”, which had a limited run at the Chichester Festival Theatre late last year and is now currently residing in the West End, London.
