“Deathly Hallows – Part 2” wins Empire Award for Best Film

The last film for the wizarding series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2, took home the big prize of the night, Jameson BEST FILM, at the Jameson Empire Awards 2012, which were held yesterday in London.

On hand at the event were Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, David Yates, and Bonnie Wright to accept the big prize. David Yates stated, “We worked so long and hard to finish the final movie, and I think our memories are working in the snow and rain and winter to finish it, so we’re very pleased that it’s been so well received.”

Daniel Radcliffe also sent a message for the award, “I’d like to thank the Empire readers for voting for us. I’ve always been quite a harsh judge of the series, but I was over the moon with this final film; I think we went out on a high note.”

Additionally, David Yates won an award for the Best Director for ‘Deathly Hallows – Part 2’, Gary Oldman won the Jameson Best Actor Award for his role in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Congratulations to David Yates, and the entire cast and crew for these awards!
