“Potter” Actors Announced for Emmy Nominations
The nominations for the 67th Emmy Awards were announced this morning with many shows featuring some of our own Harry Potter alumni.
Emma Thompson (Professor Sybill Trelawney) is nominated for Actress in a Miniseries or Movie for her role as Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street Live from Lincoln Center.
Game of Thrones is leading the pack this year with a massive total of 24 nominations. The series has featured Potter actors Natalia Tena (Nymphadora Tonks), David Bradley (Argus Filch), Julian Glover (voice of Aragog), Michelle Fairley (Mrs. Granger – DH1), Ciarán Hinds (Aberforth Dumbledore), and Ralph Ineson (Amycus Carrow). The nominations include Outstanding Drama, Peter Dinklage for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama, and Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama.
Downton Abbey, which features Dame Maggie Smith (Professor Minerva McGonagall) earned a total of eight nominations, including Outstanding Drama, Jim Carter for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama, and Joanne Froggatt for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama.
How to Get Away with Murder, which stars Alfie Enoch (Dean Thomas) featured a nomination for Outstanding Actress in a Drama by Viola Davis.
