Hufflepuff Wins the Final Pottermore House Cup – and J.K. Rowling Responds!

It’s been less than a month since we learned that the House Cup awarded on September 9 would be Pottermore’s last and only a few days since it was revealed that Pottermore as we know it is coming to an end – and the site is set to reveal a whole new chapter for fans! While those revelations make us feel a lot of things – a bit sad, excited, curious – we certainly have something worth celebrating today: Hufflepuff has won the final House Cup!

Pottermore tweeted out the news earlier today:

The announcement was soon followed with a pretty cool reward – a list of famous Hufflepuffs through the ages!

Since fans are all on high alert for any and all Fantastic Beasts news (speaking of, did you see what Eddie Redmayne said about meeting with J.K. Rowling?!), we were excited to see none other than Newt Scamander himself featured in the graphic:

Newton Artemis Fido ‘Newt’ Scamander is famous for his book ‘Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them’ – a trusted Hogwarts textbook.

Okay, so maybe we’re not learning anything new there, but check out what Jo tweeted right afterward:

We’ve certainly come a long way in the three years since the Pottermore House Cup first began. Remember when Slytherin won the very first one? And that one glorious time Gryffindor won? (All the other Houses have won at least twice). But there’s no going back now!

Are YOU ready for the Age of Hufflepuff?! We certainly are! MuggleNet has a long history of supporting the House of ‘Puff.

If that wasn’t exciting enough, we’re also just a few days away from learning what’s next for Pottermore – all will be revealed September 16! In the meantime, be sure to download your certificate to commemorate your Pottermore journey thus far. We can’t wait to see what the next chapter of the site will hold!

I've been making magic at MuggleNet since 2012, when I first joined the staff as a News intern. I've never wavered from the declaration in my childhood journal, circa October 2000: "I LOVE Harry Potter! If I clean my room, my mom says she'll make me a dinner a wizard would love!" Proud Gryffindor; don't hate.
