Attention all Harry Potter costumers, cosplayers, and general dress-up enthusiasts! YOUR TIME HAS COME.
On Thursday, July 28, the Today Show is hosting a contest in celebration of the upcoming Harry Potter and the Cursed Child – Parts 1 & 2 by J.K. Rowling, Jack Thorne, and John Tiffany.
As long as you are age 13 or above, you’re free to make your grand debut as your favorite Harry Potter character. It doesn’t have to be the boy wizard himself. You can be anyone from your favorite werewolf professor to your favorite snake-nosed villain. If you are between 13 and 18, a parent must accompany you.
The mind-blowing prize is a copy of Cursed Child, as well as a VIP trip for you and a guest to Universal Studios Hollywood, where you’ll be free to brag about your fabulous Harry Potter-centric costume to all of your fellow nerds at the new Wizarding World of Harry Potter!
But wait, there’s more!
The first 250 costumed arrivals will receive the seven Harry Potter books. The contest starts at 6:30 a.m. and ends at 7:30 a.m., so be sure to show up to 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York, NY 10112 as early as you can for your chance to win!
Grab your wands, pull on those robes, and scribble that lightning bolt on your forehead! It’s time for the Harry Potter fandom to dazzle the Today Show!
Remember, the number one rule of costuming is to have fun, but please read all of the actual contest rules below.
