Diagon Alley

to the tune of “Penny Lane” by the Beatles

In Diagon Alley, there’s a shop for every wizard art.
You tap the third brick on the left and step right in,
You go to Knockturn Alley if you’re in
With the Slytherins.

Fred and George are selling bucket loads of skiving snacks,
The kids are laughing at those crazy Weasley twins.
Then Hermione rushes in
With her brand new cat.
Look at that,
Diagon Alley has the coolest brooms you’ll buy
Get your fire bolts so you can fly in summer.

Meanwhile back
In Knockturn Alley Mr. Borgin serves a Slytherin.
It’s Draco buying books to teach him how to curse,
And it’s hard to figure which is worse,
Him, or Crabbe, or Goyle.

Diagon Alley has the coolest brooms you’ll buy
Get your fire bolts so you can fly in summer.

Meanwhile back
The kids have gone to get their “Monster Books of Monsters” now,
And Hagrid tells them that the buyer must beware.
You have to handle them with loving care
Or they pull your hair.

In Diagon Alley Olivander’s getting busy now.
He’s matching every witch and wizard to a wand,
But he has to sense a natural bond,
Or the deal’s not on.
Try it, Ron!

Diagon Alley has the coolest brooms you’ll buy
Get your fire bolts so you can fly in summer.

Pack your bags.

Get your things. It’s time to go. It’s getting late.
Muggle shops aren’t quite the same.
What a shame!
