Hollywood’s Hogwarts Gets an Upgrade!
Start lining up: A major upgrade is coming to Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey at Universal Studios Hollywood!
The ride will now feature 4K-HD technology. It’s the newest step in ultra-high definition, with more pixels and a faster frames-per-second rate. This upgrade comes as a replacement to the previous 3D technology that the ride featured. Originally, the ride projected in 60 frames-per-second, but with the new technology, it will project in 120 frames-per-second. The double rate will allow for sharper, more life-like images that are sure to make the experience even more thrilling! The storyline of the ride will remain the same, but visitors are sure to feel like they are more in the action!
This should be an improvement on the old 3D effects, which many visitors complained made them ill or interfered with the immersive nature of the ride. With this upgrade, a similar effect should hopefully be possible, without the drawbacks of 3D goggles.
With Dementors, a Quidditch game, and more already incorporated into the ride, as well as a beautifully detailed Hogwarts Castle-themed line, visitors to the park are in for quite the magical experience!
