Cauldron Cakes at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Have a Snazzy New Look!

If you’ve tried the cauldron cakes at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, you’re going to have to try them again because they’ve just become brighter, bolder, and possibly(?) tastier!

The new cauldron cake is a chocolate cake topped with bright yellow-orange buttercream icing and tucked into a reusable cauldron, all fit neatly into a square box. It’s now available at Honeydukes in Hogsmeade and Sugarplum’s Sweet Shop in Diagon Alley for $9.95, according to the Orlando Informer.

The old version, as you may remember, was a chocolate cake filled with chocolate mousse, with the bottom dipped in chocolate ganache and a chocolate ganache handle. It was a bit easier on the wallet at $3.95.

Some visitors to the theme park are saying they love the new cauldron cakes, while others are sad to see the old ones go.

Which are better? You’ll have to decide for yourself! And what better way to do so than at MuggleNet Live!: Nineteen Years Later, our private, after-hours event at Universal Orlando on September 1 (in celebration of the date the epilogue of Deathly Hallows takes place). You’ll be able to try not only sweet treats but also savory dishes, specialty soft drinks, and tasty options for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free diets.

See the full menu here, and get your tickets here before it’s too late!
