UPDATED: Celebrate the Holidays at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood
Update (November 18):
It’s time for Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter! Check out the new video and details below.
While a beautiful, glistening white snowfall may not be in the cards for most of Southern Califonia this Christmas, Universal Studios Hollywood is guaranteeing guests a white Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Along with the nightly snowfall, Hogwarts Castle will transform during the holiday season into a winter wonderland with the help of a spectacular light projection show. Guests can also stroll along the streets of Hogsmeade while enjoying unique decorations displayed in all of the storefronts and listening to the frog choir serenade crowds with cheerful holiday songs.
A variety of new Christmas ornaments and collectibles, including Hogwarts snow globes, Hogwarts and House crest ornaments, decorative tree toppers, and House pennant garland, will be available for purchase in the Wizarding World shops. To warm up after walking the snowy Hogsmeade streets, guests can stop at the Three Broomsticks for holiday-themed food and hot butterbeer.
To top off the festivities, “The Magic of Christmas at Hogwarts Castle” will light up Hogwarts each night with stunning dimensional animations accompanied by music from the Harry Potter films. You can enjoy “Christmas in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter” from November 17 to January 6 as well as plenty of other holiday events at the park.
Grinchmas will take place during the first two weekends in December and then daily from December 14 through December 30, and Minions will spread holiday cheer daily throughout Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and Super Silly Fun Land.
Lit with red and green LED lights, CityWalk’s iconic water fountain will dance to holiday-themed songs, and a towering 40-foot Christmas tree in 5 Towers plaza will shine with 200,000 LED icicle lights choreographed to music. 5 Towers will also host a number of free concerts throughout the holiday season, as well as daily appearances from Santa Claus for photo opportunities.
Don’t miss out on the spectacular light displays and holiday festivities at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter this year! You can purchase tickets to the park online here.
