Dan Fogler to Narrate “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – Makers, Mysteries and Magic” Audiobook
As excitement builds for the release of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, Audible has announced the release of an audiobook that will give fans never-before-heard access to the creation and development of the movie. Written by Hana Walker-Brown and Mark Salisbury, the audiobook Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald – Makers, Mysteries and Magic will take listeners on a journey behind the scenes of the film to discover trivia and unearth secrets.
The audiobook will be narrated by a familiar figure to fans of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Dan Fogler, who plays No-Maj Jacob Kowalski, will guide listeners as he reveals the magic behind the movie. The audiobook was recorded during filming at Leavesden Studios and will feature interviews from the cast and the crew, including figures such as Eddie Redmayne (Newt Scamander), director David Yates, and members from across various departments, including steelworkers, makeup artists, and even the catering crew!
Some of the most exciting highlights of the audiobook will be the interviews with the main cast of the film. Redmayne notes how the development of Newt as a character from the first Fantastic Beasts film has changed going into the second, Zoë Kravitz (Leta Lestrange) chats about her role in the film and secrets about the Lestrange family, and Jude Law (Albus Dumbledore) discusses appearing as a young Dumbledore.
For listeners interested in the creation of the world that the characters inhabit, further interviews will reveal details about wand design, building the set of 1927 Paris, and even the role of puppeteers in the film.
Fogler is thrilled to be able to share the experience of making the movie with the fans.
This whole experience has been an adventure for me and I’m really excited for fans to come along for the ride. […] If you’ve ever wanted to know what it takes to make not just an epic movie but one set in the [w]izard[ing] [w]orld, this is a must-listen! It covers everything from props, costumes, and acting… to wands and Nifflers! I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we’ve enjoyed making it.
Ravina Bajwa, Senior Commissioning Audio Editor at Pottermore Publishing, believes that the audiobook will provide a unique sensory experience, providing fans with a new level of intimacy with the world created.
This genre-bending production is truly an audio first, blending Dan Fogler’s warm comic performance with real-life documentary recordings captured on the set of one of the most anticipated films of 2018. We are thrilled to be working with the Audible Originals team, who have brought creative flair and expertise in original audio storytelling in order to create a one-of-a-kind sensory experience of life on a film set.
