WINNER ANNOUNCED: Hogwarts Prom King and Queen 2019

Drumroll, please! The polls are closed, and we have the results. Your Hogwarts Prom King and Queen 2019 are…

Draco Malfoy and Astoria Greengrass

Slytherin House, represent! Draco and Astoria are both from House silver and green, and they end up getting married sometime after the events of the original Harry Potter series. We know Draco as a villain who terrorizes the golden trio. He’s also super popular in Slytherin House and even a prefect. You’ll recognize Draco and Astoria’s son, Scorpius, as one of the main characters in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Coming in second place were Neville Longbottom and Hannah Abbot: another couple J.K. Rowling revealed to be canon after Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was released. It looks like our voters are huge supporters of canon ships.

From the Hogwarts Prom Planning Committee, we’d like to thank everyone who voted. We’ve compiled a list of honorable mentions of our favorite write-in candidates. Some were so silly that we thought they were too good to keep to ourselves.

Honorable Mentions for Hogwarts Royalty

Brendon Urie
The Giant Squid

Brienne of Tarth
Madam Rosmerta
Moaning Myrtle

Do you agree with the winners? Who should have won and why?

Chelsea Korynta

In third grade, my teacher told me Harry Potter was from the devil, so naturally, I have been obsessed with the books ever since. I'm a Gryffindor, a Leo (like J.K. Rowling), and I work at a boarding school (like Hogwarts). I write hot takes on the wizarding world from the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.
