“Harry Potter: The Exhibition” Is Moving to Lisbon!
Portuguese Harry Potter fans, get your wands at the ready! Harry Potter: The Exhibition is coming your way! Announced earlier today, September 25, the next stop for the international exhibition is Lisbon, Portugal’s capital and largest city.
According to the press release from Warner Bros., the exhibition will open in Lisbon on November 16. It will then run through April 8, 2020. Tickets will be available for purchase this weekend, beginning Saturday, September 28.
The Pavilion of Portugal will be the first venue in Portugal to host thousands of authentic costumes and props from the Harry Potter films. Guests will get the chance to see the props displayed in settings inspired by Hogwarts itself. Interactive opportunities include the chance to toss around a Quaffle or pull a baby mandrake from its pot.
While Lisbon is the first location in Portugal to host the exhibition, it isn’t the first destination worldwide.
Harry Potter: The Exhibition made its world premiere in Chicago in April 2009 before traveling on to Boston, Toronto, Seattle, New York, Sydney, Singapore, Tokyo, Edmonton, Sweden, Cologne, Paris, Shanghai, Brussels, the Netherlands, Madrid, Milan, Berlin and Valencia. Finally, on November 16th [sic] it opens in Lisbon for the first time at the Pavilion of Portugal.
