Emma Watson Unpacks Her Bag in Press for “Little Women”

by Gayane Kaligian · Published December 17, 2019 · Updated May 5, 2020

We know what Hermione keeps in her beaded bag with its Undetectable Extension Charm, but what does Emma Watson keep in her own bag? She sat down with British Vogue as part of the press circuit for Little Women and unpacked her purse, sharing a little slice of her life in the process.

Watson famously champions sustainably made products, of which her bag is full. Vegan deodorant in recyclable packaging, reusable straws, and makeup remover pads were just a few of the items she pulled out of her seemingly endless bag, which also contained a fluffy hot water bottle and Nutella. She’s also carrying a copy of Toni Morrison’s Beloved, which her book club, Our Shared Shelf, is reading together this month.

Truth! 90 percent of what is in this bag (and the @mmaa.social bag itself) came from a little store in London called @contentbeauty. I buy everything there from beauty to swimwear to jackets and T-shirts to shoes. Their vintage edit is perfect. Their underwear is the softest/most comfortable you can find. They select such special jewellery and books…. if you’re visiting london – Go! @imelda_burke @contentbeauty xxx

She later posted on Instagram that most of the items in the bag are sourced from Content Beauty, a store in London that carries natural cosmetics and clothing. The bag itself is from Mmaa, a women’s collective in Ghana that is dedicated to promoting healthy livelihoods for these women and their community.

Watson has been traveling all over the world, bag in tow, preceding the release of Little Women on December 25. We’ve seen her posting adorable candid photos from the set, including this incredible shot of herself with costars Florence Pugh and Saoirse Ronan:

Little Women will be released in theaters next Wednesday, December 25.
