Social Media Roundup: Magic Takes Many Forms

Welcome back to another edition of MuggleNet’s Social Media Roundup! During the past couple of weeks, the Wizarding World stars have posted about families and golf games, reminisced about Harry Potter, explored the outdoors, and shared subjects that are important to them, proving that magic can take many forms if we let it.

On the topic of Harry Potter, don’t forget to tune in on September 1 for the Back to Hogwarts virtual event. Set to appear are James and Oliver Phelps, with cameos from Jason Isaacs and Bonnie Wright.

It is hard to believe that it has been 20 years since the cast of the first Harry Potter film was announced. Remembering that fact was Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley). Oh, to be able to use Hermione’s Time-Turner and see that day.

Trying to use magic from his Hogwarts days as a Slytherin, Tom Felton attempted to expel the rain.

Out getting some hair… we mean, air… was Bonnie Wright, who shared a video of herself enjoying being outdoors and enjoying the sun.

Also savoring the outdoors was Chris Rankin, who went camping with his significant other and his puppy, who looked quite comfy.

Some of the Wizarding World stars shared family moments with their fans. Evanna Lynch celebrated a birthday, which we hope was as magical she is!

On August 15, to mark the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, James and Oliver Phelps shared memories of their grandad who fought with the Royal Airforce in Burma (now Myanmar) and India.

Devon Murray (Seamus Finnigan) had some fantastic news – he and his girlfriend are expecting a son! Congratulations to the couple; we wish you all the best.

Fore! Practicing their swings on the green were avid golfers Tom Felton and James Phelps.

Katie Leung (Cho Chang) shared a beautiful animated video of former President Obama dropping the mic and Michelle Obama taking it. This is in reference to the powerful speech she gave during the Democratic National Convention.

A slideshow of images she also shared was about a topic that is not spoken of much or enough: Asian fetishization. The images Leung shared offered an explanation for her followers.

Be kind, show compassion, protest – these were some of the words in a post by Bonnie Wright.
